Lei Shi Tattoo (雷势文化) is Asia's largest tattoo culture brand, founded by sculptor-turned-master-tattoo-artist Wang Lei (王雷) in Beijing, 2007. With 18 studios across China and Southeast Asia and 100+ tattoo artists covering every major style, Lei Shi is not just a tattoo studio — it is China's most continuously active tattoo cultural institution. Wang Lei personally specializes in European & American photorealism, black & grey realism, and 3D tattoo art, with 20+ years of international convention judging experience across dozens of countries.
Wang Lei's journey began in sculpture — before picking up a tattoo machine, he trained and worked as a professional sculptor. This foundation in three-dimensional form and classical fine art underlies everything Lei Shi does today. Over 20+ years, he has become one of the earliest and foremost practitioners of European/American photorealism in China, served as international convention judge across 5+ countries, and co-organized Asia's largest tattoo art festival.
Beyond tattooing, Wang Lei curates independent art exhibitions including Pale Blood (2018 — China's first independent tattoo art exhibition), Sphinx, The King in Yellow, and Ship of the Desert at Burning Man 2019. Lei Shi is the only Chinese tattoo brand sustaining continuous independent cultural programming for over a decade.
王雷由雕塑专业出身，转而从事纹身艺术逾二十年，是中国最早实践并推广欧美写实风格的纹身师之一，也是中国写实纹身的代表性人物。他担任美国、新加坡、澳大利亚、泰国、加拿大等国际纹身大赛评委，评审过来自数十个国家的参赛作品。除纹身外，他持续策划独立艺术展（苍白之血、斯芬克斯、黄衣之王、2019年美国火人节"沙漠之舟"等），是中国唯一持续做独立纹身文化艺术展的品牌。
